All You Can Eat Chinese Eight Bucks!

Hey gang, it's time for yet another horribly belated blog post...

Memorial Day weekend was grand. Took Friday off to make it a 4 day weekend and spent the time off visiting Liz's folks in Shebagdad. Nice and relaxing. Watched National Treasure (which is a decent movie as long as you don't think too hard) and went to a Brewers game, which they somehow managed to find a way to lose, despite their starting picther going 8 and two thirds while giving up only 2 earned runs on 5 hits. But, alas, they are the Brewers.

Been busy lately. Besides my day job, I've been working on the side for the guys at Relion. Doing some ASP development for Regis Corporation. Sometimes I wonder if that multi-million dollar corporation realizes that their entire accounts payable application is in the hands of a single inexperienced goof from Wisconsin. Ahh, well. They're fault if they're too short-sighted to realize that.

I wasn't planning on playing softball this season (didn't have enough to field a team this year), but I've been invited to play ball with another team as a sub. Turns out that I'm replacing a guy that had some sort of freak injury involving throwing a ball 90+ feet and is out for the season. As luck would have it, my one-week subbing position has become a full-time gig and I'll be playing with them all season. They're a good bunch (actually, one of the teams we've been playing against for the last couple years) and they go out for beer and wings after the games so, even if we play like the Brewers, there's some solace to be had.

Been listening to some "older" music lately. (By older, I mean music over 3 years old.) Thanks to my new music service, I can bring up just about any album (well, except all the ones I want, naturally) at any time. So, the lately, I've dug up "Songs about Jane" by Maroon 5 and 311's Greatest Hits. Not as edgy as the stuff I normally listen to, but it's good stuff to listen to and just chill out with. Add a beer and you're pretty much golden.

Had my first experience in a long time being addicted to a television show (besides SportsCenter, of course). Anyone see that show, "House?" It's about a doctor who is apparently the smartest man on the planet and quite possibly also the biggest dick. Well, not quite, I guess - there was one big guy on there that was even more of a prick, but he was also not a genious so he was even less endearing. Aside from the female doctor that works on the show and is miraculously gorgeous, I'm not really sure what I like so much about the show. I imagine it's a complete mockery for most medical professionals, but I'm too ignorant to know that, so I just roll with it. Fortunately, the season ended last week so now I can reclaim and hour of my Tuesday nights, once again. I'm sure I should use that time to do housework or some such thing, but I'm certain I won't.

Babble babble babble. I'm out.
