Sorry everyone - I know how belated this update is. Needless to say, it's been a pretty hectic week.

Liz and I have been putting in quite a few hours at work with our respective projects. I've been trying to keep up with the project we're currently working on and it's taking all the time I have and then some. Anyway, a few highlights from our week...

Liz has been out on the town every chance she has gotten. Wednesday night, she was out with Brit (Brit is the fiancee of a classmate of Liz's and she is currently doing a coop at IBM) for dinner and then went shopping for candles for Brit's upcoming wedding. Then, Thursday night, Liz went out with her co-worker Marcy for some dress shopping. She was supposed to be looking for a dress for the weddings we have coming up next month - she ended up with no dress, but she had a bunch of clothes from Old Navy. Whatever makes her happy, I guess. :-/

For me, on the other hand, it wasn't quite as exciting. I got together with some friends on Wednesday to play some basketball. I also had a trip yesterday up to the cities. I attended a seminar on a couple new Microsoft products - the key item was InfoPath. It was pretty cool, but I'm not jumping for joy over this one. I won't go into details - if you really want to know about it, give me a call. I'll be expecting the phone to ring off the hook....any minute now....hmmm....any minute... Alright, fine.

Anyway, we've managed to survive to Friday night. The weather has been just gorgeous (today was over 80 degrees) so Liz and I are trying to take advantage of it this weekend. We checked out a couple nurseries tonight and started a big landscaping project. We laid some brick out in front of our house last year and we haven't been especially happy with the way it turned out. The slope of the yard was just too steep so it didn't end up looking very good. So, in order to fix it, we've decided to pull all of the brick out (I think it'll be reappearing in the backyward) and putting in retaining wall. We haven't gotten very far yet - we've only picked up the first load of block (I believe there will be three) and placed a few pieces. Tomorrow will probably be a long day.

Anyway, we're going to try to get a lot of it done this weekend because Liz just found out today that she's going to be headed to Austin again next week. She leaves Monday morning and she'll be out of town until Friday. I guess, with her out of town, I should have plenty of spare time left to finish up whatever we don't get done this weekend.

I suppose I might have one more project to keep me busy next week, as well. I've mentioned my "prefessional" blog a few times. Well, as it turns out, it's actually drawing a bit more attention than I had expected. I had a request a couple days ago to write up an article for a Java newsletter that goes out every month on JavaRanch. JavaRanch is a forum site that I help moderate - it's all about Java and related technologies. I'm not yet sure what I'm going to write about, but I imagine I'll spend some time on it next week while Liz is out of town.

Anyway, I think that's about it for this week. Sorry this update was so late - I'll try to do better in the future. Take care, everybody.

Corey
